Teams spend weeks comparing models and minutes choosing the use case. That is backwards. A great model on a weak use case still produces a weak result.
The highest-leverage decision is picking a problem that is valuable, feasible, and owned. Get that right and average tooling wins. Get it wrong and the best model in the world cannot save it.
How to choose well
- Start from a real pain, not from the technology.
- Score use cases by value and by feasibility, honestly.
- Make sure someone will own the result after launch.
- Pick one, ship it, and learn before you scale.
The model comes last
Once the use case is clear, the model choice is usually obvious and rarely decisive. Do the selection work first. It is cheaper than a failed build and it is where the leverage actually lives.
A sharp use case with an average model beats a vague use case with the best one, every time.
